Our Belgian branch
The Association has an extremely active Belgian branch, comprising many individuals with family links to 609’s wartime aircrew. 609 Squadron has a very proud association with our Belgian friends, a link principally based on the very large number of Belgian pilots who fought with the squadron during the Second World War. In fact, 609 Squadron is unique in today’s Royal Air Force in that, at each formal dinner, after the British monarch is toasted, we also toast the Belgian royal family!
Our Belgian contingent are very active in arranging events throughout the year, and ensure that 609 Squadron is at the forefront of people’s awareness of the air battle over Europe. They also produce a wide range of merchandise, including limited edition prints of 609 aircraft in action, some of which can be found for sale on this site.

Join the 609 Squadron Association
Our Association can only exist with the support of its members. Please consider joining us, especially if you have served on, or have a connection to, 609(WR) Squadron. Contact the Committee for any further information. We are also pleased to help people who are researching the squadron's history and welcome all enquiries.
